New Germany away jersey 2012-14

 Germany away jersey EURO 2012

The new Germany away jersey from adidas has been released end of February 2012.

The theme of the jersey is reflected in the collar. It says 1972 – 2012. 40th anniversary of the German 1972 victory. Germany has now gone without a victory in a major tournament since 1996. Long time for the Germans whom have won titles in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 1972 , 1980 , and 1996. In other words the longest draught since the 20 years between 54 and 74.

The jersey is green with white 3-stripes and white bands at the arm edges. Crew neck collar and the usual suspects of adidas and DFB logos to the chest.

The name and number kit is white – adidas 2012 style.

FC Copenhagen from Kappa to adidas

 FC Copenhagen in adidas

The leading soccer team in Scandinavia FC Copenhagen have decided to switch from Kappa and to adidas.

The deal will be effective starting in July 2012 and will be valid for 4 years.

Copenhagen did play in adidas already once during the 1990s but since then adidas has been primarily been associated with the likes of Brondby in Denmark, IFK Gothenburg in Sweden, and Rosenborg in Norway.

However, the cooperation with Brondby has ended most likely due to poor results and a lot of off the pitch trouble inside the club. Since adidas is no longer spending big time on the Liverpool sponsorship it might have freed up resources for an engagement with FC Copenhagen.

The press release states that it is the biggest sponsorship in the history of adidas in Scandinavia with any football club.

The biggest allure probably comes from the fact that FC Copenhagen is well suited to secure regular participation in the biggest club tournament of them all. The UEFA Champions League. The CL is broadcoast across the globe and brings a global audience and a lot of focus on the participating clubs and of course on their apparel sponsors.

Review: Man United home youth jersey 10-11

Review: Man United youth jersey 10-11

by MM Sports Joker ambassador AH

Today I am writing a review of a Manchester United boy’s medium size jersey. First off, my daughter Marley is 10 years old and loves Manchester United. Her favorite player is Wayne Rooney. Her eyes lit up when this jersey arrived in the mail. I own a few United jerseys and my 9 month old son has United baby clothes so my daughter was stoked for this. I think there is a family picture in our near future. But back to the jersey. It is in last year’s style with a white collar that you can stick up and pretend you are Eric Cantona wearing his old Sharp jersey from the 90s. The Aon logo is prominent on the front of the jersey with the Nike swoosh above the right breast. Above the heart is the United crest but on the inside of the jersey on the backside of the crest, it says “BELIEVE”.  That is an awesome touch to it. Every United fan knows that you never give up or stop believing. While Sir Alex Ferguson is manager, the team will always have that dynamic that they can overcome any obstacle. True Reds always believe. On the left front there is a small patch that says “Authentic designed to the exact specifications of the championship athletes.” Also on the patch is another swoosh and a 9 digit number. The right front has DRI FIT stitched on it. A stripe runs from shoulder to shoulder with a devil on the left shoulder. Behind the collar on the back is a MUFC. The fabric feels nice and cool on your skin according to my daughter. “This is the coolest Jersey in the entire world,” Marley said. “I am so happy to wear this.” Then my daughter went on to sing the Gary Neville song. This jersey is truly great and would be a treasure for any young United supporter. Any parent who loves their kid should buy this now.

Real Madrid jerseys 2012-13

Real Madrid jerseys 2012-13

The new Real Madrid home jersey will arrive in May 2012. The exact date is still unknown at the time of writing.

The launch date might be influenced by on-pitch factors such the clinching of Spanish league title or appearance in a Champions League final.

The color scheme and the design of the jersey has been revealed already though. The home jersey will be white with navy and bright blue contrast colors.

The printing will most likely follow the constrast colors and be navy blue.

The away jersey will most likely launch in June or July. The new away jersey will be dark navy with lime green contrast color.

The name and number kit accompanying the jersey will most likely be white though a bright color could also be an option.

The Champions League away jersey (LFP 3rd jersey) will launch in August. For the season 2012-13 the colors will be green and silver.

The name and number kit could be white or silver as the most likely options.

There will also be two goal keeper jerseys as part of the collection. One will be red and the other one will be black.

The goal keeper jerseys will probably launch together with the home kit in May.

Juventus jerseys 2012-13

Juventus soccer jerseys 2012-13

For the season 2012-13 Juventus will sport 2 new jerseys. A black-white striped home jersey. A black away jersey. The pink away jersey for the season 11-12 will continue as the third jersey for the season 12-13.

Most likely the name and number set for the home jersey will be yellow. For the away kit a good guess would be white. It is still to be confirmed though. If the black name and number kit for the away jersey 11-12 will change for the season 12-13 is TBD but most likely it will not.

Designwise few new details are present for the home kit. Black white stripes – Nike Swoosh – Juve clublogo all familiar elements which will also be on the jersey 12/13. The current sponsor betclick might continue or not but no design major changes there either.

So what might be the driver for the Juve jersey sales 12-13 should be on-pitch result or changes to the player squad. If Juve wins the title 11-12 or atleast qualifies for Champions League football + with an invigorated balance sheet partly due to the higher stadium incomes from a new arena one cannot rule out a couple of signature signings might result. And with subsequent success on pitch at the highest club level attainable the UEFA  Champions League that might activate the dormant fanbase of Juve supporters and trigger them into buying mode. The jersey design itself will probably not be able to do the trick.

A joker might be the Italian national team and their run at the EURO 2012. A European Championship to Italy might also spur an increased in the Italian calcio.

But these are all speculations so we will have to wait and see how it all plays out over the summer . . .

Review: AC Milan home shorts and socks

AC Milan Shorts and Socks Review

When it comes to the broad spectrum of merchandise offered under the license of an association football club, or any sport team for that matter, you know you will come across a wide variety of products, from those aimed at casual followers, to hardcore fans. Courtesy of MMSports, I’ve been able to review some great AC Milan products, with jerseys ranking as generally favored products and others such as the beanie hat and scarf acting as products for the slightly more dedicated fan, but of valued use. Well today, I’ve got my hands on two great Milan products essential to any heavily absorbent fan of the Rossoneri: the 11/12 AC Milan shorts and the correspondent socks. I’ve enjoyed observing these two for the sake of giving an in-depth view of all aspects of the products and their respective values. Let’s go!

AC Milan home shorts and socks

The Look

(I’ll be starting each section with the shorts, then the socks; following that, I’ll portray their function together.)

I’ll admit myself, I don’t consider myself to be at the dedicative level of purchasing much clothing other than jerseys and the occasional shirt when it comes to raw support for my favorite teams, but thanks to MMSports’ shipment of a pair of shorts for review, I’ve been given great insight into something that I’ve overseen for years as a football fan. Matching shorts make any jersey look much, much better. I’ll say it myself; I’m the kind of person you see outside wearing a jersey adorning a normal set of clothes, regardless as to whether I’m out playing, shopping, or otherwise, but the way that the shorts look with the jersey is just so fitting, that I find myself wearing them much more then I expect, in fact, I’m treating them a lot more like casual everyday shorts then one would think. What I’m trying to say is, there’s much more value to having your club’s shorts then just for diehard spectating and dedicated representation.

AC Milan’s latest set of shorts, fortunately, has not changed much at all. Milan is legendary in its iconic color scheme, as many teams are, but in my opinion, this year the shorts look better than ever. But if they have changed minimally, how can this be so? Take the following photographs into account.

AC Milan uniform Pato

AC Milan’s 10/11 kit, as you can see in the image on the left-hand side, sports a more focused, darker theme, with an emphasis on the large black and red stripes across the home jersey. Look around the kit, there is no white to be found, other than the shorts. So now, if you take a look at the 11/12 home kit on the right-hand side, you should get a bit of the “vibe” that I got with the shorts. With the thinner stripes, meaning less black, and the white collar and cuffs, it all comes together so much better. It’s ironic that the change in jersey improves the visual appeal of the shorts, but that’s not to take away from the value of the shorts in accordance to all AC Milan jerseys of all time, for I’ve come to learn that they just go great with anything Milan, not being Inter Milan that is.

To get to specifics, AC Milan’s shorts are one great big flood of maximum white. Along both sides, the symbolic Adidas stripes can be seen in a red/black/red scheme, one that matches that of Milan’s away kit stripes, as well as the general color set of everything AC Milan. It’s almost double value for the fact that these are the shorts worn in the away kit as well, so you could consider them, outside of the third kit shorts, almost universal to all jerseys of Milan. Sewn into the lower-right side of the shorts is a high-quality AC Milan emblem, just as it is on the home and away jerseys. On the back of the lower-left side of the shorts is the forever present Adidas logo, its own priceless brand of quality and clean, abstract design making itself known. Lining the outer rim of the bottom of both sides is the same, thin-line Italian national colors present vertically upon the jerseys.

The shorts pretty much go perfectly with any AC Milan top, be it a shirt, jersey, or otherwise, you name it and it looks great. The bold, total whiteout look compliments any top, obviously preferring red, black, or white clothing. Maybe the changes from previous shorts are minimal, but Adidas has really done a great job of respecting the main kit design this time; the upper-kit is a large influence upon the visual display of the shorts and really, I can’t stress enough how good they look with many different clothes, they serve the representation values of a jersey in a simply less extravagant way; I’ve been wearing them with completely unrelated shirts and they just look so good. The shorts are definitely the ideal addition to any Rossoneri fan’s set.

Visually, the shorts are easy to see as either dedicated or casual; you could wear them to watch a match or play outside, but you could wear them when you go out in the summer and it would be no different from usual, everyday clothes. Unfortunately, the socks don’t work like that, but that’s not to take away from their value. I’ll talk more about this later but for now, here’s a review of the visual aspect of the socks.

AC Milan home jersey and home socks

AC Milan’s latest socks, produced by Adidas like the rest of the set, are totally black, other than a few other features. Near the top of the socks is another three-stripe design as sported on almost all Adidas products; the stripes are red, as is the text in the middle of the socks reading “AC Milan”. Near the bottom of the socks is the Adidas logo in the matching red of the other images, completing the main look of the socks. Around the feet, the socks sport many thin, colored patches and cushions, clearly for athletic purposes, and they are tinted with reds and grays. Overall, the socks look very sleek and go well, as with the shorts, with pretty much any Milan top, though you’ll be looking more to put these with a whole kit rather than just one piece.

AC Milan socks packaging

So what’s the deal with the socks? It’s very easy, they are great, and they match all Milan merchandise well, but they are what they are, athletic socks. You probably wouldn’t find yourself slipping these on when you need to go out to buy something or take a walk, but that’s not what their purpose is. They are great looking socks for playing a match and especially great when you want to really put yourself behind AC Milan as they step into a  difficult 90 minutes on the pitch. They lean a lot more to the dedicated fan style then casual follower.

The Fit

Regardless of what they are for, both the shorts and socks are supposed to be comfortable, right? Luckily, Adidas has done another great job with sizing, build, and fit to make a couple of really good products here.

The AC Milan shorts are very, very fitting and comfortable. I recreationally play football outside and find that I need to find a nice mix between tight yet loose when it comes to shorts to play with. Well, no more, because football shorts are what any fan that plays as well is looking for. The semi-elastic waistband is easily adjustable, courtesy of the laces with which you may tighten the shorts, but you’ll find that even without using them, the shorts are tightened just right to adjust as you move. From there, the rest of the shorts are a thin and light material; you will never find them obstructing your movements. They hang with an almost featherlike grace that makes them ideal for any athletic exercise or movement. The shorts are most assuredly a great fit, all you need to do is pick a relative size and you know you can’t go wrong with the adjustability.

The socks are brilliant; they are a specialized fit with the fabric technologies of Adidas making themselves known. If you’re like me, you look at the packaging for something such as football socks, and you’re probably thinking, “what are these complicated words doing on sock descriptions, they’re just socks?!”. You’ll find that it’s all of the tiny little details that make them so great for slipping into your boots and moving, all the meshes and cushioning is subtle yet effective; the socks are even shaped and built around studied features of the human leg and its muscle movement! I’ve had other football socks before but they don’t quite hold up like these, others always begin to slide down quickly with minimal grip. I have zero complaints or negative comments on the socks and from an athletic and comfort perspective, they are the ultimate solution in socks. That goes for all socks of the Adidas line, obviously not just AC Milan’s socks.

The Final Word

Recently I reviewed the AC Milan beanie hat and scarf together; I was pleasantly surprised to find that though they are club merchandise takes on normal, accepted clothing, they easily seam into casual wear without a problem. I would definitely place the AC Milan shorts in that segment too, if you wear them right, they go well with certain clothes and you can hit a mix between an athletic and striking style. The same is not true for the socks, they are great in their own way, but you logically would not factor them in when getting ready to head outside for an everyday sort of activity.

Purpose wise, both products hit the spot. The shorts are great for slipping on with a jersey and watching AC Milan duke it out with another team and the socks are a fantastic addition as well, helping to compliment an already attractive fan set. Once again, both products are also great for athletic activities like walking or playing a sport, in the end that’s what they are designed for.

In the end, I think both products are very, very good, but I would consider the shorts to be perfect for any AC Milan fan, and the socks to rank more as an athletic or diehard fan’s piece of merchandise. They both fit the entire Milan look and work well with any jersey of any year, home or away, and there are definitely fewer ultimate ways to yell “AC Milan!”, then putting these on for a good, fun match of the beautiful game, no matter whether you’re playing or watching. I recommend both of these products to all AC Milan fans that are big on wearing jerseys, for these two will make the kit look complete, and you can’t beat a full set.

Review: AC Milan home jersey 11-12 Scudetto

ACM Ambassador: AC Milan Home Jersey 2011/2012 (Scudetto)

With AC Milan now back on the field, they’re sporting more stars than ever before, brandishing formations with the likes of Robinho, Cassano, Alexandre Pato, and the one and only Zlatan Ibrahimovic. There’s never been a better time to stand behind a team like Associazione Calcio Milan, and fortunately, they’ve been pushing the brave styles of their jerseys more than ever this year. So now, courtesy of MMSports, I shall show my thoughts on AC Milan’s new 2011/2012 Home Jersey, including the Scudetto patch!

AC Milan home jersey Scudetto patch

The Look

As if to perform the polar opposite of the 2010/2011 home jersey design, AC Milan went back to old ways this year. Last year, Adidas and AC Milan introduced a jersey with large vertical stripes bathed in shades of black and red. What they have done now is pounce back to the older styles of many stripes and in fact, the new AC Milan jersey has twenty-one thin stripes. I will not lie, the look of many stripes did not at all seem appealing to me at first, but as I watched the team play their home matches and witnessed other fans adorning the new jersey, it began to strike me as a very attractive design choice. Once visions of the old jersey faded away, I grew a new appreciation for what could perhaps be Milan’s best home jersey yet! Aside from the stripe altercation, the second most significant change could just be the best one. As the Milan crest itself shows, white has always been an fundamental color choice of the team’s merchandise and styling, though curiously enough, it always appears absent on the team’s home jerseys. Adidas has finally changed that presumption. AC Milan’s 11/12 Home Jersey has a very sharp look with slick finesse; the jersey has a white ring neck, white sleeve cuffs, and even the signature Adidas stripes upon the shoulders are now an eye catching arctic white shade. The design is careful to keep the polar white schemes from unnecessary interference with the black and red stripes all Rossoneri  followers have come to love, and I cannot stress enough just how nice it looks. It looks great on the field, and it looks great on the street; AC Milan’s new home jersey is dashing! In addition to those core changes that have been beneficial to the design culture of Milan, Adidas performed the favor of lightly shifting the locations of the Adidas logo and the Milan crest; making them that little bit more distant in order to keep the jersey’s design clean and polished.

AC Milan home jersey 11-12 details

Thanks to MMSports, I received for review a version of Milan’s new home jersey that included the famed Scudetto patch! The Scudetto Shield, in the Italian league of Serie A, is representative of a league title. Since AC Milan proudly lifted the trophy last season, they will spend this season, in all competitions, sporting the Scudetto patch on their jerseys! The patch is a shield shape containing the three stripes of the Italian national flag. It is bordered with a thin golden outline. For serious Milan fans, such as myself, the value that the Scudetto patch holds is far greater than it would seem; this symbol means more than just another trophy, it represents a victory as a team and as a worldwide fan-base. For those interested in obtaining an AC Milan jersey, I would highly recommend purchasing a version that includes this patch, for its value in meaning is as fantastic as its value in style; without the Scudetto patch, the jersey loses some of its soul. Adidas made this jersey aware that it would be played with a Scudetto patch, and as such, many of the design choices revolve around the presence of that patch. Take my word for it; this jersey looks very nice with the “We won the league trophy last season!” patch.

The Fit

In terms of fit and comfort, all I can say is, “Wow!”, why would I react like this? It is simple, I am without a doubt, a fan of AC Milan, and when I talk about a jersey, all Milan fans know what jumps to mind. Last year’s jersey, though it had a very nice look, did contain one basic flaw that would be the downfall of one of the most important features of sporting merchandise: inconsistent comfort. The way that the some of the colored seams met, as well as the over stretchy a
bundance of mesh material throughout the large stripes… last year’s jersey really was not all too comfortable to wear. Do not get me wrong, it was not terrible, but once I put on this year’s jersey, I knew I could never go back. Adidas threw the body mesh concept out of the window. Now, as it should be, the mesh segments are focused in the under-arm area. The rest of the jersey? Well, as Adidas continues to prove year after year, their “Climacool” technology and the fabric of their jerseys is of premium quality. The wear is silky smooth; unlike last year’s jersey, I do not feel inconsistencies in the overall design. The whole jersey is one straightforward feel, and as usual, whether you are a fan that purchases a jersey for sportswear or just casual apparel, the physical feel adapts to what you do. It is comfortable for relaxing, and it is just as comfortable for taking a jog, the new Milan home Jersey does not disappoint.

The Extras

In terms of extras, I mentioned the fan-essential Scudetto patch previously, but in addition, like all other jerseys, you can get this one customized with a favorite player’s name and number. That authentic customization, as well as the Scudetto patch, will make a great AC Milan set for any fan that surely will not be forgotten. One cannot forget that the Scudetto patch is a rarity; who knows when you will see it available again? If Milan wins this year’s Serie A race once more, then you can expect more Scudetto patch studded jerseys in the future, but is that a risk worth taking when you can grab the jersey of a championship caliber team with the sign of victory right now? That’s a question of how loyal your “Cuore Rossonero” may be, and I throw a personal and grateful “thank you” to MMSports for allowing me to review this edition of the jersey.

AC Milan home jersey details front

My final verdict on this new style for AC Milan’s home jersey is simple. With the new emphasis on a bright white trim, the reverting to more stripes as well as adding even more, and an increasingly appealing and stylish look, the AC Milan Home Jersey for 2011/2012 could be the best AC Milan jersey to date, and surely ranks among the best Adidas jersey of the season worldwide. AC Milan’s squad, as well as its fans, can be proud to sport the legendary colors of “il Diavolo” in a look as attractive as it can get. Regardless of your origins, whether you may be a heart bound Milan fan or maybe just a jersey collector, this is one to take into possession right now! I have been one of the biggest critics of the change in Milan’s home jersey, and I can tell you as I wear it now, this is hands down the new jersey to beat for the Italian champions.
